Our full-time web-based program will allow our AMB students to achieve their MSN in two to three years and increase their career trajectory and earning potential. This program combines the flexibility of web-based learning with seminar weekends to facilitate graduate education for the professional nurse.
Below is a list of the three areas of emphasis. Please note that the total semester units listed for each program emphasis includes the pre-program course CGN Communication and Information Management 1 unit. CGN is Mandatory and offered through the College of Graduate Nursing during the summer prior to the start of the program in the fall.
Please note that CGN is not covered under financial aid because it is a pre-program course and not part of the core curriculum. The curriculum for all three areas of emphasis are offered in full-time and extended track options. Each course listed under each semester is taken concurrently and NOT one course at a time.
An extended track option is available to students that choose to take one additional year to complete the program. The extended track is also a viable option for students who feel that the additional year will allow them to complete the program at a pace that better suits their learning goals.
Students who choose the extended track option will still be eligible for financial aid. You can also access the curriculum grids by visiting the first page of the College of Graduate Nursing Student Catalog and scrolling to the respective page within the catalog or by clicking on the respective section in the Table of Contents. Please visit the Course Descriptions section within the College of Graduate Nursing Student Catalog to obtain course description information.
Any student who chooses to re-apply at a later date will be expected to follow the same application process as listed on the Post-Masters FNP Requirements web page.
MSN graduates will be required to have completed hours 1 year, full time RN work experience prior to acceptance into the FNP program. For information regarding prerequisite coursework and application requirements, please review the ADN to MSN admissions information , or if you are ready you may submit an online application.
